The winners of the Vary(ace) film festival awarded
The premiere of three short films and several short animated clips created during the project Vary(ace) project has closed the exhibition Years of Disarray 1908–1928. Avant-gardes in the Central Europe in the Olomouc Museum of Art.
The Vary(ace) project offered the amateur filmmakers the unique opportunity to cooperate with the best professionals of the film industry including actors and supervisors of script, camera, editing and film music. During three months, three short films have been created and on January 27, they were presented to the public during the closing ceremony of the exhibition Years of Disarray 1908–1928.
The evening started with screening of six animated clips created by children and inspired by the topics of the exhibition, and screening of four animated clips created by students during the international educational programme ArtCoMe. The main part of the programme was dedicated to the presentation of the amateur film staff and their three final films.
The filmmakers enjoyed not only a unique experience, but they were awarded with original prizes, too. “In January, a workshop with the artist Vendula Chalánková took place, where these unusual prizes were created by the participants,” comments David Hrbek, the co-author of the film festival.
“The whole evening was very successful, I would even say more than we expected. And I am very happy to state this, as we wanted this evening to be a little less serious, in contrast to the official opening of the exhibition, which was a completely perfect experience,” summarized David Hrbek.
