The meeting of students in Bratislava is just around the corner

The third international meeting of students participating in the ArtCoMe project will take place under the auspices of the Bratislava City Gallery at the end of October.

The new school year begins and along with it the second part of the international educational programme starts too. Again it will connect twenty high school students from four countries by means of common creative activities. Student teams are already preparing themselves for the autumn meeting in Bratislava and working on their first tasks. Just like last year, each team is asked to choose and elaborate on a social-historical topic focused on national or regional aspects of the time period corresponding with the era of the ‘Years of Disarray 1908–1928’ exhibition. The main task is to create a Wikipedia article on this topic. Selected topics will be also linked to the content of creative workshops students are going to attend during the international meeting in Bratislava.

Preparations for the student meeting are in full swing, this time under the leadership the Bratislava City Gallery. Lecturers of the gallery are preparing a rich programme to offer students various approaches to work with information they have learned. They will also introduce them the ‘Years of Disarray 1908–1928’ exhibition. Terezie Čermáková, one of the project coordinators and lecturer of the Olomouc Museum of Art, visited Slovak colleagues to help with preparation of the meeting content. ‘ArtCoMe brings new possibilities of cooperation not only to students but also to us, lecturers and museum specialists. Appointments in smaller working groups are very important for the exchange of experience and good cooperation on the educational programmes across all four institutions,’ said Terezie Čermáková. She also met students from the Slovak partner school during her business trip and together with Vladislav Malast, the lecturer of the Bratislava City Gallery, presented them the ArtCoMe project. ‘It was great to talk with students who are part of the Slovak team this school year. We introduced them the project structure and discussed the possibilities of their work,’ added Čermáková.

The third international meeting of students within the ArtCoMe project will take place from October 25 to 28, 2019 in the Bratislava City Gallery.
