Public of the Olomouc Region awarded the Years of Disarray exhibition with Silver Award

The ‘Years of Disarray 1908–1928’ exhibition presented in Olomouc Museum of Art took second place in the vote of the ‘Olomouc Region Public Prize’ for an exceptional achievement in the field of culture in 2018.

The Olomouc Region awarded prizes for cultural contribution in ten categories for the thirteenth time. Unique Years of Disarray exhibition presented at Olomouc Museum of Art won second place in the category of exceptional achievement in the field of culture. It is the only award that the general public decides directly by voting. The exhibition competed with ten other extraordinary cultural projects.

The Street Art Festival, that presents street art for almost twelve years, took the first place this year. An exposition of the Research Library in Olomouc entitled ‘Farewell, Monarchy’ was placed third.

‘We greatly appreciate the award from the public. The ‘Years of Disarray 1908–1928’ exhibition was the biggest project in the history of the Olomouc Museum of Art and we are always very pleased with the positive feedback from visitors. We thank all our supporters,’ said spokesman of the Museum Tomáš Kasal and added: ‘We congratulate not only the winners, but all those who are involved in organizing cultural events in our region.’
