Homo artefactus animare
As a part of the VARY(ACE) film festival a workshop for children on the creation of animated film took place on October 13, 2018. During one afternoon, six short animated etudes were created.
The VARY(ACE) film festival will also have its section of animated films created by children.Within it clips of participants of workshop Homo artefactus animare will be screened. The workshop for small filmmakers prepared Lenka Trantírková, lecturer of Olomouc Museum of Art.
During the programme the children were briefly acquainted with the ‘Years of Disarray 1908–1928’ exhibition and thethemes it carries. Then they focused their attention on storyboard creation, digital animation on tablets, sound recording and postproduction. ‘I’m delightedhow well children have managed such a time consuming and lots of patience requiring task. For some of them it was the very first experience, others have tried classic animation or comic book making in the past,’ says lecturer Lenka Trantírková. ‘All of them had to choose one at the exhibition displayed artwork and incorporate it according their own fantasy into the original story,’ she adds.
There is certainly something to look forward to: the gala ceremony of the VARY(ACE) film festival will take place on January 27, 2019 at 7 p.m. at the Theatre of Music.
